WHEN OUR COMMUNITY GATHERS, JOY FOLLOWS!

When adults with special needs exit the school system, their social experiences and support services come to a halt. Most live at home with their parents and are isolated and lonely. Without our building even being completed, we are watching these individuals experience a way to connect and find a sense of community.
In January, we held a gathering to have some fun and build friendships, complete with karaoke, pizza, dancing and singing, and a “get to know you” Q&A. Everyone had so much fun! We can’t wait to provide this experience to even more adults with special needs.

CONSTRUCTION UPDATE

We can hardly believe our eyes at how quickly our building is rising! The under slab electrical and plumbing and the foundation pour was completed by December and the entire ground floor has been framed. Soon we’ll begin work on the second floor. We are making incredible progress and it’s a sight to behold!

WE DID IT…THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!

Thank you for helping us raise the $10K needed to match funds to access our Community Helpers farm grant. These funds enable us to operate our all-volunteer outdoor farming space for adults with disabilities.
Many thanks to the Helpers Community!

BIG WAVE FARM REOPENING MARCH 15

Just a heads up that the Farm will be reopening soon, with our first Community Farm Day scheduled for Saturday, March 15 from 10-2. Please be aware that we are taking the utmost precautions to prevent an outbreak of the Avian bird flu on the farm. As a result, no one except for Farm personnel will be permitted in the chicken area. We appreciate your understanding and support!
Thank you from the Big Wave team for your support — we appreciate you!
