Creative Spotlight An Art Collective for Change
A new collaboration, Creative Spotlight, An Art Collective for Change, launched this weekend with an inspiring event composed of a collaboration between AbilityPath, Helpers Community, Futures Explored, and a coalition of dedicated volunteers. Thank you to our sponsors and to all who made this a success! The event’s theme “Let Us Tell You a Story” focused on 17 featured artists who shared their authentic, insightful voices.
Over the past year, the Creative Spotlight(TM) has worked together to focus on collaborating to place a spot light on the creative talents of neurodiverse artists, advancing what The Progressive Art Movement, 50 + years ago, started. The initiative is rooted in 3 pillars; – Accessible Art – increasing visibility of neurodiverse artists – Transformative Experiences – Shifting perspectives through creativity – Community Engagement – Building a vibrant, inclusive arts movement Art can inspire, challenge perceptions, and transform lives. Some of the most moving work created by neuro diverse artists often goes unseen. Art should be celebrated and accessible to all, to the broader community inclusively from galleries to museums to public institutions. The launch event aimed to raise awareness and reimagine neurodiverse artists’ art in mainstream art spaces. Watch for More to come…. October 10th, you can see more of this art at a collaborative inclusive event with the P.A.I.N.T. Art Collective, 4:00- 7:00, 8 Princess St, Sausalito. |
