Please share in Helpers Community successes and milestones met June 2019. We are pleased to report progress continues towards our Mission and ongoing commitment to provide resource support for individuals with developmental disabilities.

RE-FOCUS, RE-POSITION, RE-INVEST:
Here the highlights:

Helpers Homes:
Investment of $450.0 made to refurbish and re-open 2 Homes
Our first 6 residents moved in January 2019, and are learning life skills.
The second home for 6 additional residents opened this June.

Helpers Artisan Boutique
Reinvestment in the Helpers Community Store
The Helpers Artisan Boutique formerly the Helpers Bazaar opened in April at the new Union St, SF location. It features only inventory made, designed, and/or produced by individuals with developmental disabilities.

Dedication to the Mentorship and Training of the Developmentally Disabled
An employee of Helpers Community, Christopher Morioka, who is a valued member of the team selling in the Helpers Artisan Boutique, was recognized in May by the Arc SF as their Employee of the Year at their event, The Arc San Francisco 2019 WorkLife Awards.

Grant Disbursement to Organizations Supporting Helpers’ Mission
The Helpers Board of Directors has approved $250,000 to be distributed during 2019 to worthy organizations who support Helpers’ mission.

Creation of New Website and other Social Media
www.Helperssf.org

Investment in new Digital Data Management System
The Neon CRM manages, organizes, and administers contacts in a digital format vs notebook which enables us catalog more efficiently.

Transparency to Stakeholders
Helpers Community was awarded with the Gold Seal Award for Transparency from Guidestar. Guidestar is an information service and the largest source of information about U.S. nonprofit organizations. It serves to verify that a recipient organization is established and donated funds go where the donor intends.

So, we would like to thank our Board of Directors, neighbors, friends, valued partners for continuing to believe in our mission and for their continued support and efforts. Our progress is the result of these relationships, collaborations and the hard work of dedicated individuals.

We invite you to continue to engage, partner, and support Helpers Community in our effort towards long term sustainability and success:

As I referenced in my most recent announcement this past April, please consider a contribution to the Helpers Pyramid of Giving, found on our website (www.Helperssf.org).

Your tax refundable donation can be targeted in any number of ways to support the Helpers mission:

  • Sponsorship of a Helpers Artisan Boutique employee
  • Support of our consumer outreach initiative
  • Maintenance and repairs related to the Helpers residence homes
  • General Operating support.

We truly do value your support, your encouragement and commitment towards helping to enrich the lives of Individuals with Developmental Disabilities.
